Relay

Your workflow

Relay works with the files your audit already runs on.

Your firm already has a methodology, templates and engagement files, and your auditors already work in Excel, CaseWare and Draftworx. Relay works with all of that, in the folder on your computer, and nothing has to be rebuilt in a new system first.

Files and systems

What Relay reads, and what it writes.

Relay reads the engagement folder as it is and writes its work back into the same folder, in the formats your team already opens.

Excel

Workpapers are built in your Excel templates and saved into the engagement folder. Formulas, referencing and formatting follow your firm's standards, so a reviewer opens a workbook that reads as the firm's own work.

PDFs and Office documents

The documents behind each balance — contracts, invoices, bank statements, confirmations, the draft and prior-year financial statements — are read where they sit in the folder, and every figure Relay keys is tied back to the page it came from.

Email

Client correspondence saved to the engagement folder is part of what Relay reads: the reply to a query, the term sheet behind a balance, the explanation of a movement.

CaseWare

Relay reads the files CaseWare produces on your computer — templates and workpapers included — so the two work together without a direct integration.

Relay is built to replace legacy engagement software with something simpler and more powerful: one tool that carries the audit file from planning through finalisation, working directly with Excel workbooks, PDFs, source documents and email. Your firm decides the pace: run Relay alongside CaseWare for as long as you like, or move the file across.

Draftworx

Relay reads the files Draftworx produces on your computer, templates and workpapers included, and works with them directly. As with CaseWare, firms use Relay alongside Draftworx or in place of it, at their own pace.

Your methodology

Relay drafts from your own templates and methodology — your formatting, your referencing, your documentation standards — and applies them the same way on every engagement. Nothing has to be rewritten to suit the software.

FAQ

Questions auditors ask.

Does Relay integrate with CaseWare?

Relay reads the files CaseWare produces on your computer — templates and workpapers included — so the two work together without a direct integration. Relay is built to replace legacy engagement software with something simpler and more powerful, and your firm decides the pace: run Relay alongside CaseWare for as long as you like, or move the file across.

Does Relay work with Draftworx?

Yes, in the same way. Relay reads the files Draftworx produces on your computer, templates and workpapers included, and works with them directly. Firms use Relay alongside Draftworx or in place of it, at their own pace.

Do we have to move our files into Relay?

No. You point Relay at the engagement folder already on your computer and it works there, reading the files in place and saving the workpapers it builds back into the same folder.

What file types does Relay read?

Excel workbooks, PDFs, Office documents and email, plus the files CaseWare and Draftworx produce. That covers the trial balance, the draft and prior-year financial statements, the general ledger, contracts, invoices, statements and the client's correspondence.

Can Relay use our firm's templates and methodology?

Yes. Relay drafts workpapers from your own templates and methodology — your formatting, your referencing, your documentation standards — and applies them consistently across every engagement.
